Meet Sarah Gaugler – Expert Tattoo Artist in Tribeca, As Featured in The New York Times, Harpers Bazaar and More
Sarah Gaugler is a Filipino-American fine artist, tattooist, illustrator, and musician whose work transcends medium — rooted in emotional honesty, transformation, and the quiet strength of survival. Now based in Tribeca, New York City, Sarah is the founder and lead artist of Snow Tattoo NYC, a private fine-line tattoo studio known for its deeply personal, hand-illustrated designs.
Sarah’s journey as an artist began under extraordinary circumstances. Orphaned at a young age, she was raised in the Philippines with little stability but an abundance of inner strength. In a world that offered her challenges, she turned to art — a passion and a means of healing, expression, and identity. Through hard work and determination, she put herself through college, graduating with honors and earning consistent Dean’s List recognition from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Advertising.
Her style is characterized by intricate line work, delicate cross-hatching, and surreal forms — is unmistakably her own. Every stroke tells a story. Every tattoo she creates is not just art, but a moment of transformation for the person who wears it. Her work resonates with people seeking meaning and connection, drawn to the elegance and emotion woven into every line.
Sarah’s Story
Sarah’s early life shaped her into the resilient, imaginative creator she is today. Orphaned at a young age—her mother lost to cancer and her father to suicide—Sarah found herself growing up under difficult circumstances in the Philippines. Despite this, she taught herself to persist. By immersing herself in art, she nurtured her talents and escaped through creation. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Advertising at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, graduating with honors and consistently being named to the Dean’s List for her excellent academic performance.
From Manila to Tribeca
After establishing herself in Manila—winning awards in album art and packaging, working with prominent advertising agencies such as BBDO Guerrero, Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWA, and doing commissions for brands like Starbucks Philippines, Warner Music PH, Universal Records, and Lee Jeans PH—Sarah made a bold move. In 2015 she relocated her private tattoo studio to New York City. Today, she lives and works in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan, where she owns Snow Tattoo NYC, a luxury, private tattoo studio known for its fine‑line, custom‑designed tattoos, line art & dot work, and a warm, safe, and inclusive environment. Clients come by appointment, and every design is hand‑illustrated to reflect their individual stories.
